example title blocks

This is the title block for a music magazine of my chosen magazine genre. The letters 'NME' stand for New Musical Express, and the usual colour schemes of indie rock music magazines are often red, black and white. Therefore this title block fits in with the colour scheme of the magazine covers. It is in capital letters and bold writing and therefore stands out on the cover page. The fact that the text is in red will also stand out from the background that would presumably be white.

Pop music today is thought to be aimed at a slightly younger age group, for this reason the colouring is bright and would therefore appeal to the younger audience. Pop is also thought most commonly listened to by girls and for this reason the main colouring of the title block is pink. The use of the '<3' instead of the word love shows that the title is for the younger generation as this is an example of how they may text their friends. The font is plain and easy to read, it looks to be quite casual and is not too formal.

This is the title block of the Q music magazine. This magazine is of the indie-rock genre which is my chosen genre. Once again it follows the conventional theme of a music magazine of this genre. The title block is red and white and there would usually be black used throughout the cover also. The font is simple but the slight flick on the Q makes it look slightly different which relates to the genre of indie which is slightly different and out of the ordinary.
